Chrissy is a FAA Designated Pilot Examiner in the Kansas area. Based at the Great Bend Airport – KGBD, Chrissy co-manages a small flight department with her husband, Derek. She started flying over 20 years ago out of Centennial Airport, KAPA, in Denver, Colorado. After getting her CFI she taught in the Denver area before getting hired by an air ambulance company flying Learjets. Two years and many trips around the country and parts of the world, Chrissy was back in Pueblo, Colorado teaching and assisting Derek full time at his flight school. Currently they reside in Great Bend, Kansas flying a variety of aircraft and enjoy watching their son, Ethan, grow up. Over the past 11 years, together they operated Centerline Aviation, a full service FBO at GBD where they did flight instruction, aircraft maintenance, aircraft fueling, hangar rentals, insurance recurrent training and contract pilot service.
Being in the aviation industry for the last 22 years has taught Chrissy a tremendous amount and she hopes to share her experiences and knowledge with all current and future aviators. Becoming a DPE in 2016 was a new challenge and she is grateful to pursue this new path. There are so many memorable moments for new pilots, your first solo, the “one” crosswind landing while solo where you were not sure how it would go, going to a new airport on a cross country, and the day you finally become a certified pilot or achieve an added rating. Chrissy enjoys getting to be a part of your story and hopefully pass along some of her experience and knowledge.
